PointVI: Privacy Policy
Last updated: 13 October 2026
PointVI is an unofficial fan-made map app. It does not collect, store or sell personal data. It is run by Adam Kánský, a sole trader in the Czech Republic.
What stays on your device. The places you mark as explored and your settings are saved on your iPhone. If you use iCloud, Apple may sync them across your devices under Apple's own privacy policy. We never receive them.
Network requests. To stay current, the app downloads map data, place photos and live finds from public servers (GitHub, which hosts the GTADB community data, and our own server on Cloudflare). Like any web request, these servers see your IP address. We do not add identifiers, and we do not run analytics, ads or tracking SDKs.
Sharing. When you share a place, the app hands a link to our web map to the iOS share sheet. Where it goes is up to you; we do not see it.
Web map. The web version works the same way: explored places and favorites stay in your browser's storage. The website sets no cookies and uses no analytics.
Notifications. Only if you turn them on. The launch reminders are scheduled on your iPhone, and GTA VI news and news from us reach the app the same way as the live finds: it checks our server now and then in the background and shows the message. There is no push service and no device token; nothing about you is sent to us for this. Turn them off in the app (tap Explored at the bottom of the map) or in the iOS Settings.
Purchases. PointVI Pro and PointVI Max are sold through the App Store. Apple processes the payment. We only receive confirmation that the purchase is valid, never your payment details.
Children. The app does not knowingly collect data from anyone, including children.
